about

Tyrannosaurus is my pet name for Long Covid, so-called because the crushing headaches that came with it were like a monster in my head.
I was struggling with symptoms in 2020, at a loss as to what was happening to me and desperate to give it medical name. A friend suggested I name it myself and maybe I could write a song about it, or even to it.
Tyrannosaurus is a song about acceptance, about not fighting what is. It's a plea to go gently on yourself as much as a defiant gathering of strength.

lyrics

Oh so tired
Monster in my head
Lining up the vitamins
Wash them down
One by one
No rock and roll
It's my body but I'm not in control
I don't know your name
But I'm trying to get used to you

Tyrannosaurus
You won't get the best of me
Tyrannosaurus
Come on, take what you can see
Tyrannosaurus
If you have to call this home
Go easy on me
I'm all alone

Monster in the dark
It's my body, I'll show you who's in charge
No I don't know your game
But I'm trying to get through to you

Tyrannosaurus
You won't get the best of me
Tyrannosaurus
Come on, take what you can see
Tyrannosaurus
If you have to call this home
Go easy on me
PLEASE
Tyrannosaurus
Go on, take what you can see
Tyrannosaurus
If you have to call this home
Go easy on me
Easy on me
Go easy on me
Please
Go easy on me
Please
Go easy and we might just get along

about

Chiara Berardelli Glasgow, UK

Chiara Berardelli grew up in the Highlands of Scotland on a diet of classical piano and Radio 1's Sunday night Top 40. She always knew she wanted to be a Songwriter but life had other plans. Until now. Chiara is, possibly, the only medical doctor with a Masters in Songwriting. Her songs are an affecting coming together of her piano led love of harmony and unapologetically honest lyrics. ... more
